More than Six Days Seven Nights

One of my favorite quotes from Six Days Seven Nights is "If you don't bring it here, you won't find it here," says Quinn (Harrison Ford) to Robin (Anne Heche) when she makes the comment that people come to the island to find romance.

The process of healing is like that. There is no quick fix, and absolutely no one can spur it on; you are the catalist, it is up to you. No one can give you healing or tell you where to find it; they can only share the experience with you.

Healing happens when we aren't aware we are healing. Time. I believe that time heals all, or most, wounds, or at least time can shelter the wound until we find a way to cope/accept it. Some wounds just take longer than others. We have to be patient. Hard to do, but I believe patience allows us to let go of the frustrtion of wanting something immediately and not getting it.

We live in a world of instant gratification - healing, does not.

Ivory you could not have said it any better. Healing does take time. We did not arrive the way we were over night. Thank you for sharing. Blessings.

Very true... and the more we seem to want to hurry the process, the more we get lost along the way.

How are you Ivory? This sounds really positive and accepting.

Take care,

Amen to your comment that there is no quick fix in healing. It's a process and it comes when the time is right. You are wise to recognize that. But it will come, in God's timing.

I like that quote. It is all an inner life, more so with healing.

Good and healing thoughts to you.

This is such a good reminder for those days when we feel bogged down in the healing process...and feel that it isn't happening fast enough.

It takes time. That is so true.

It is a journey...it is a process. Thanks for reminding us of that. And thanks for being a part of the blog carnival.
